A pair of California Quail have been living in the neighborhood this summer. We spot them every few days or so roosting on our fence or our neighbors roof. This weekend they seemed to be having a turf war with our resident Scrub Jays. They had a noisy show down for about a half hour early Saturday evening. No apparent winner as of yet.

How cool is that! I haven't seen a live quail in over thirty years & that was down in Carmel Valley.
We haven't had much luck with our veggies this year- tomatoes are dwindling, but plenty of carrots. I'm ready to dig everything up & start fresh.
